Trouble-makers

Jan 31 - Cleo is quick to swoop on any draw that is momentarily left open. I had to rescue her from this draw this morning when I realised there were sharp drawing pins throughout it. And to think I'm considering getting a third cat.....

Dear Marmite

Jan 30 - My dear friend Marmite, I miss you. My life is not the same without you!! I search for you on the supermarket shelves in vain. I don't expect to find you in Australia but I look anyway! Please please come back soon. I miss the way you brighten up my day!! (I'm not crazy! I just really love marmite).

Beautiful buildings

Jan 29 - This is St Augustine's Church in Shepparton - it's so beautiful! I love some of the old villas here as well, they have so much character.

Only in Australia

Jan 28 - this isn't really a photo - more of a screen grab. But I was so impressed by this guy's email signature that I had to share. I've blocked out most of the email but you get the idea. Only in Australia.......

Time after time

Jan 27 - Today I'm posting a gratitude photo to my lovely boyfriend Rob who gave me this beautiful watch today for my birthday. 27yrs old on the 27th!!

Wasps in Shepparton

Jan 26 - I got this photo while hanging out washing today (oh the excitement!) but apparently there's a wave of wasps hitting Shepparton at the moment.

Mind food

Jan 25 - There's always plenty of reading to be done......

Drops of jupiter

Jan 24 - The end of another week. I think this photo is one of my favourites so far and it makes me excited about the possibility of what I could do with a better camera

Four-dollar joy

Jan 23 - I really love this woven heart thing I got from Kmart!! $4! It's the little things that are great and I do love a bargain.

A fresh year

Jan 22 - It may look like a pair of discarded shoes but it's so much more than that! It's proof that I've gone to the gym for the first time in 2013. It a second resolution of sorts behind trying out a photo blog....

Riverside

Jan 21 - The Goulburn River in Shepparton. Apparently it's the longest river in Victoria - 654kms.

The vital element

Jan 20 - Water is so vital to Shepparton. I'm still getting my head around the concept of needing to water the garden everyday....and needing to water the grass. Shepparton is so very dry....

Strumming a tune

Jan 19 - I love it when Rob plays the guitar - but much prefer Eric Clapton or something similar over Slayer!!

Australian sunsets

Jan 18 - I think there's a lot to be said about the beauty of Australian sunsets. I've learnt my lesson here though - never try to take a photo out a car window....

Fridge door memories

Jan 17 - I do like this photo - it's just my fridge door and the assortment of photos on it that all have meaning for me. But it's also made me think that I need to start taking more photos at different locations - all my photos seem to get taken at home, inside, at the end of a long day.

Pantry pets

Jan 16 - I found Cleo tonight hanging out in the pantry next to the cat food. I think she may be trying to tell me something.....

Victoria Park Lake

Jan 15 - Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton at dusk. It's times like these I think a better camera could do it justice. Something to aim for!

Back to reality

Jan 14 - Back to work...back to reality. Today's photo was a bit of an afterthought. But hey, I guess it tells a story. This is where I can often find Rob.

Queen Victoria Markets

Jan 13 - Sunday markets are always good. The Queen Victoria Markets were literally across the road from where we stayed in Melbourne over the weekend.

Melbourne oh Melbourne

Jan 12 - I really do love Melbourne. It's such a pretty place. This is the City Baths building. According to Wikipedia it opened in 1860 as an alternative to stop people bathing in the Yarra River, which at that time had become quite polluted. The river is apparently responsible for a typhoid epidemic.

The mid-life crisis solution

Jan 11 - Rob's prized guitar and mid-life crisis birthday gift- a Dean Dime-o-Flage. It's fair to say my credit card is still reeling from this purchase.

Marmageddon!!

Jan 10 - The countdown is on!! We're told by the New Zealand Herald it's now potentially a three month wait until Marmite returns. The Sanitarium Factory, which produces Marmite, was damaged during the Christchurch earthquake in Feb 2011. Please come back soon Marmite!

It's the little things that make you laugh

Jan 9 - I got home today to find this - a cucumber in my driveway. This tells me that my boyfriend has been grocery shopping. I found it quite comical so I decided this can be my photo for the day.

Waves of fire

Jan 8 - I don't think my camera does this sunset justice but it was quite stunning. Kind of makes me think about all the bushfires today - there's been heaps of coverage about out-of-control fires in NSW.

Too hot to do anything

Jan 7 - This is far from interesting but it's been a long long day. This is Cleo and Bruiser trying to beat the heat by seeking out the coolest surface in the house - the tiles in the hall way.

Sushi!

Jan 6 - Rob made sushi for dinner. Amazing! So cool to see him get inspired about food again.

Bruiser

Jan 5 - another portrait of sorts - Bruiser. I think the tounge out means he's content/happy. I will endeavour to start posting some different kinds of shots - so far they all seem to be close ups.

The real meaning of Summer

Jan 4 - Despite some technical difficulties tonight - I've finally got the photo up. Strawberries, peaches and apricots - that's what summer is all about.

The hot weather is on its way

Jan 3 - Shepparton is expecting a few days of really hot temperatures  - sometimes over 40 degrees.

The other half

Jan 2 - A profile shot of my boyfriend Rob

A fresh challenge

Jan 1 - A fresh start to the year - the first plant I've looked after that's actually flowered. Most plants in my care do not survive long.
